Vanguard of the Seas: The Inaugural Philippine Fleet Defense Expo

Naval Base, Sangley Point, Cavite City, played host to the inaugural Philippine Fleet Defense Expo 2023 held last May 11-13, 2023.

The Philippine Navy (PN) showcased an impressive range of existing naval assets and presented a glimpse of aspirations for future advancements at Naval Base Heracleo Alano. Vice Admiral Toribio D. Adaci Jr., Flag Officer in Command, and Commander Philippine Fleet, Rear Admiral Renato P. David PN led in welcoming colleagues and friends during the first ever Philippine Fleet Defense Expo.

The 1st Philippine Fleet Defense Expo (PFDEX) marks a significant milestone in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Attendees are provided with a preview of the Navy's forthcoming advancements across multiple domains, including cyber and electronic warfare, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems, naval aviation, force protection, logistical systems, and support systems. The event also includes informative lectures and symposiums led by industry experts.

Global leaders such as Brahmos, Rafael, Elbit, Navantia as well as homegrown innovators such as SaferPh, Dynacast, Propmech, Gendiesel were just some of the few who joined the first ever PFDEX. Meanwhile, the symposium was filled with valuable insights from defense and industry experts such as Prof.CJ Cowlin (tech defense expert), Brian Borysewich (Cyber security strategist), and Col.Eufracio Malig Jr. who talked about the important role of SRDP (Self Reliant Defense Posture) in a modernised AFP.

The PFDEX 2023 welcomed colleagues from different military services as well as friends from the international community. It also opened its doors to private citizens who simply want to see the Philippine Navy's modernized capabilities.
